The sad news was confirmed in a online announcement from the presidential library.
“Tatiana passed away this morning. She will forever remain in our hearts.”
Details of the Illness
Within a personal essay this past fall, she disclosed that she had been suffering from AML, a form of leukemia with a uncommon variant.
Acute myeloid leukemia is a disease that originates in the body's blood-forming tissues.
